Cookie policy

The short version
PlantSpec only uses cookies and browser storage that the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not share cookie data with anyone. Because of that, we don't need to ask for your consent, so you won't see a cookie banner.
Cookies we set
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your PlantSpec account. Set by Supabase, our account system, when you sign in. | Until you sign out, or the session expires |
| site_unlocked | Lets invited testers past the coming-soon page before launch. | 30 days |
Information saved in your browser
Some features save information in your own browser (local storage) instead of in a cookie. It stays on your device, is never sent to us for tracking, and is only used to remember what you were doing:
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Basket | The plants in your basket, so they are still there when you come back. | Until you clear your basket |
| Checkout draft | Delivery and order details you have started filling in, so you don’t lose them. | Until you send the order |
| Orders and specifications | Draft orders and plant specifications you are working on. | Until you delete them |
| Units | Whether you prefer kilometres or miles, and your plant size units. | Until you change them |
| Invite shared | Remembers that you have already shared an invite, so we don’t ask again. | Until you clear your browser |
Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookie, you won't be able to sign in to PlantSpec. Clearing your browser's site data will also remove anything saved in local storage, such as your basket.
Changes and questions
If we ever add optional cookies, such as analytics, we will update this page and ask for your consent first. For anything else, see our privacy policy or email sbplantspec@gmail.com.
